History

Originally incorporated on August 21, 2001, Arrow Energy Ltd. (“Arrow”) became a public company on May 3, 2004. In September 2006, Arrow completed a major transaction with Tirmoil Energy Ltd. (“Tirmoil”), a wholly-owned energy subsidiary of the Peavine Métis Settlement (the “Settlement”). The transaction consisted of Tirmoil acquiring Arrow, the first time in the history of the TSX-V that an aboriginal community has taken over a publicly traded company. This resulted in new management and a new Board of Directors. At that time, Arrow’s production was comprised of virtually all natural gas, with some minor liquids production, and amounted to approximately 120 boe/d.

Arrow subsequently acquired all of Tirmoil’s assets, which included oil production, a first for Arrow, as well as an oil sales pipeline. In addition, Arrow obtained potential access to a large block of undeveloped land on the Settlement. Arrow now had a balanced production mix and future development opportunities that it set out to exploit immediately by drilling two new wells in Peavine in early 2007. Both wells were successful and resulted in Arrow’s production nearly doubling to over 200 boe/d. Successful work-overs and drillings in Arrow's other core areas have helped to maintain production levels in excess of 250 boe/d.

In the summer of 2007, Arrow acquired Castle Rock Petroleum Ltd. (“Castle Rock”), a junior exploration and production company with an attractive asset base in southern Alberta and the Hotchkiss area of northwestern Alberta. The acquisition of Castle Rock has been accretive to Arrow and two recent successful wells drilled on the jointly operated Castle Rock’s southern Alberta lands has provided further proof that this acquisition has become an integral part of the foundation for Arrow’s future growth.

What Sets Us Apart

Peavine_pump_1_edged
Our unique relationship with the people of the Peavine Métis Settlement, who together own over 50 percent of Arrow’s shares, gives us access to drilling opportunities on the extensive, undeveloped land bases both within the Settlement, surrounded by many successful drilling operations, and potentially on other First Nations- and Métis-controlled lands. We believe that our ability to explore and develop these areas will result in exciting growth for all of our shareholders. Arrow’s opportunities include prospects for light sweet crude, natural gas and bitumen (heavy oil).

Strategy

We will reach this objective by building our company on three key pillars:
  • our relationship with all stakeholders, first and foremost the Peavine Métis Settlement and other aboriginal groups we may work with in the future;
  • an outstanding team of individuals who commonly strive for the same goal in a cooperative working environment;
  • a corporate philosophy of doing business in a highly ethical fashion that includes continuous, open and honest communications with the investment community.
